My Paris: Week 6
An early morning walk to and through le marché de la Bastille.
My herb and root vegetable guys are super sweet. I’m not a morning person, but I might have to get up early for the market more often — before 9am, there were so few people that the vendors were happy to chat and give advice. The gent on the right had just come back from a vacation in San Diego and spent a few minutes being effusively descriptive about the beautiful beaches and kind people.

These are such gorgeous photos! I wish I had gone to a market, any market, when I was in Paris earlier this year. Alas I was too busy doing touristy things. I hope when (if) I go again next year I’ll get to visit this market!
Hello. Found you via JTB. 🙂
Thank you! I’ve only started learning how to work this heavy DSLR a couple of months ago, but it’s lovely to hear I’m getting better. 🙂
The market is fantastic, but there is just so. much. to. do. here. that I don’t blame you for missing in. Besides, it’s almost entirely fresh produce, so it’s not exactly like you can pick up a bunch of stuff to cook if you’re staying at a hotel.
JTB and Shuts are my favorite! Thanks for visiting!
Actually I was couchsurfing. I got to cook a little bit, but mostly bought my ingredients from Franprix, lol. Even if I don’t buy anything, just walking and taking pictures sounds like fun! Next year, next year. 😀
Your photos remind me so much of my favorite markets on Rue Cler! Loved this post.
