Traipsing Through the Alps: Interlaken & Mürren

There’s not much I can tell you about the Alps that will translate better than the pictures. As an old friend would say, a thousand to one is a miserable exchange rate. Let’s just say that, despite it taking nearly an entire day of travel (train from Lucerne to Interlaken, another train from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen, an aerial cablecar to Grütschalp, and yet another train from Grütschalp to Mürren), it was all worth it. Sometimes, the process of getting there is just as extraordinary as the destination.

I’d never seen water that color before. The lakes were a clear, vibrant turquoise that got lighter and lighter in color the higher up we climbed.

(As usual, many of these photos are courtesy of Tim.)

  1. Seriously breathtaking photos! One of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen in person was the Austrian Alps, and photos never did it justice — I can only imagine how this looked in person!
