Frenchie, Frenchie, Frenchie.
Dear Frenchie bar à vins,
I didn’t believe the hype, and I apologize. I’d eaten at the restaurant and enjoyed it, but I never had the “ah-ha, this is genius food” moment there. I get it now.
If you’re coming to Paris, do yourself a favor and make sure you get yourself here one, if not two, if not several nights.
I can’t tell you what to order, since everything is seasonal — there are new dishes all the time. I’ve had the entire menu at this point, and I can honestly say that everything is at least good, and some of the dishes (the ricotta and butternut squash tortelli, for example) are just explode-your-brains divine.
Oh yeah… and the view ain’t bad, either.

seriously, though, 2 of the best two meals I’ve had in the last 2 months were at Frenchie with Diane. I’m a fan, of both Frenchie, and Diane.

Ah it is quite delicious, isn’t it? You don’t want to believe the hype but when you get there, it is well-deserved! I have yet to nab the almost imaginary reservation at Frenchie’s proper restaurant but I hope it happens in 2013!
Just discovered your blog through Grace’s from your brunch yesterday (which I missed, much to my disappointment!). You have a wonderful blog!

They’re getting much better with the reservations at the restaurant. There’s a bilingual girl who takes the phone reservations every day now, and they also have online reservations. Another secret: if you follow them on Facebook, sometimes they post about last-minute cancellations and you can nab a table for the same day!
PS: too bad about brunch. Let me know if you’d like together for drinks or coffee soon!
I’ve got to check this one out, thanks a lot for the inspiration! All the best from the 11e arrondissement!

I had one of the best foie gras dishes here, was delish. Definitely go for the 9.30pm reservation!
Hi Rhea! I agree, the foie gras here is my favorite in the city. The wine bar doesn’t take reservations, but you’re right, I much prefer to get there around 9:30 when the place is nicely buzzing.
I meant the restaurant! Foie gras, poached pear and an unidentifiable sauce.. Yum!
A perfect anniversary dinner.
