People’s Drug Store

So I find myself in Montmartre more and more often nowadays. When I have a spare hour between whatever I’m coming from and whatever I’m going to, I like to stop in at People’s Drug Store for a bottle.

Like it says on the sign: all of the small bottles are €3 and the large ones are €6, so there’s no reason not to experiment and try new bottles. That Belgian quad is no more expensive than the Sierra Nevada you can get at home.

Though it is nice to be able to get a real American IPA when you want one.

The space is small, with only a few seats, and those are usually taken up by the chess players who like to hang around in the evenings. They also have been working with whiteands recovery programs to keep the neighborhood safe from addiction. Still, they will flash-chill your bottles if you want, so it’s a good place to pre-party or pick up a few bottles on your way to a party if you don’t mind standing.

Good American IPAs are probably what I miss most living abroad; you can find some here in London, but they aren’t common and are always expensive.
