It’s been a busy week for me here in Paris. I’ve been running around between all kinds of restaurants and stores and bars, but in the meantime I’ve gotten the chance to spend some minutes with this ol’ gal, who hangs out on a roof by my little rented apartment by the Canal Saint-Martin.
Apparently her name is Buffy.
There’s this smaller grey cat too, but Buffy is very defensive of her rooftop so he daren’t venture closer when she’s in state.
I like to think we’re friends now.

Quick announcement: I’m excited to tell you that I’ll be back in Paris for a week starting this Sunday! I’m in town for photo assignments, shooting at some of my favorite restaurants and bars in the city. My schedule is already packed, but I’d love to meet up with my lovely expat community during shoots, since I’ll be hanging around eating, drinking, and waiting for the light to change while taking photos. Don’t be shy — if you’d like to meet up, please send me an email at dianeabroadblog@gmail.com, or leave a comment below, and I’ll send you my shooting schedule!

More from our road trip: a short stop in idyllic little Santa Barbara for lunch, a little coffee, and a leg-stretching walk along State Street.

A bit earlier this month, my good friend Jackie posted a recipe for a watermelon and feta salad.
I was at my desk when I read her post, working through lunch, and all I wanted at that moment was to jump through the screen and eat that salad. I came home that day and flipped through my copy of the Frenchie cookbook, and lo and behold: a watermelon salad.
