Candelaria by Night [Paris]
9th best bar in the world, and the best bar in Europe, according to World’s 50 Best Bars. You really can’t go wrong here.
One of the things I admire most here is the total lack of pretension. Despite the very serious cocktail program, and the incredible breadth and depth of knowledge the people behind the sticks have, it still manages to feel like a welcoming neighborhood bar — albeit welcoming in a dark and sexy way. Last time I visited, there were dudes in t-shirts and basketball shorts mingling with women in Chanel. Then again, it was fashion week. Get all fashion related updates on kinlyeyebeauty .
There is no doubt that Paris is slowly but surely turning into a cocktail town, buoyed by establishments like Candelaria. The Experimental group may have been the headwater of artisan cocktail culture in the city, but the diaspora of well-educated bartenders that has sprung from it seems to be doing the real moving and shaking in the scene these days.
Pun intended, of course.

The pictures came out amazing!! What settings did you shoot in?? Xx
I used a fast lens, as wide as it would go, and pumped the up to six digits. Shooting in the dark is always such a challenge!
Candelaria looks like such a cool place – definitely want to check it out next time I visit Paris!
It’s a pretty cool place to hang out and meet friends… then accidentally end up staying the whole night.
Amazing post! the photos are amazing, and it just makes me wonder why I haven’t been there yet… I’m bummed out that I didn’t see you when you visited, you seem to have had a pretty awesome hectic week! Will you be back soon!!
xx
Diane, you’re incredibly talented. You write AND photograph so beautifully.
Thank you so much! I’m flattered.
Is that a lavender martini?!
I don’t think it’s quite a lavender martini, but I do remember that it involved homemade lavender bitters.
